About Me

Welcome to Discovering Whimsy!

My name is Amy, good of you to stop by!
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and live just outside of Seattle. I am a stay-at-home parent of two wild, awesome little boys (ages 1 and 3), married for 10 years to the most amazing and kind man, whose razor sharp wit and desert-dry sense of humor keeps me guessing what he will say next. I am also a dog-mom to Bailey, our geriatric Lab-mix.

Before becoming a stay-at-home parent, I worked in higher education as an academic advisor/recruiter helping students navigate the sometimes murky procedures and policies of the higher education process. Working with students and helping them brought me so much joy.

Now, we are in the full throws of toddler/preschooler life and while it is so much fun, the focus is kids and home life most of the time. While day-to-day life may be crazy, there are so many moments of joy and whimsical adventures, that I thought it would be a good reminder for myself to be present and notice the things that bring me joy and share them with you, whether you be few or many.

My plan is to post about the things that make me happy, travel, crafting, cooking/baking, fashion ,trying to be the strongest me I can be, doing fun things with the kids and any other random things that make me joyful.

If any of these things interest you, hopefully, you will keep coming back to see what else I am up to or maybe you will be inspired to share your whimsies and what gives you joy with me. This is my first attempt entering the blogging world, so in the very least, that should be a little comical as I work through the process.
